Leica
invented digital level technology more than 15 years ago. The new DNA
series of levels is the second generation of digital levels by Leica.
The DNA series improves upon the time proven concept behind Leica
digital levels. Data is now stored on PC cards which offer massive
amounts of storage and easy transfer to a computer. The screen on the
DNA is now much larger and displays information easily and
conveniently. Leica digital levels have been proven to increase
productivity by 50 percent or more on even the most demanding leveling
projects. This is accomplished by improving both field and office
production and virtually eliminating transcription and transposition
errors.

DNA10
With an accuracy of
1.5 MM to a standard bar code rod for a one kilometer level loop the
DNA10 is suitable for all but the most accurate leveling projects.

DNA03
The DNA03 is designed
to provide the absolute highest accuracy available in a digital level.
The instrument has internal resolution of 1/10,000ft., and is capable
of an accuracy of 3/10 of 1mm for a one kilometer double run level
loop.

Software
The data from both levels
is processed by Leica’s new Leica Geomatics Office (LGO)
Software. The program contains functions such as line calculation,
adjustment, and the creation of reports. It runs in the familiar
windows operating environment and is designed for maximum ease of use
and convenience.
Level
data in LGO can
be combined with Leica GPS and Total Station observations.
The Leica digital levels are also supported by third party
programs such as Star Net and Star Lev.
Backward compatible
The DNA series of levels were designed to be backward compatible with
the previous generation of Leica digital levels. A bar code rod
purchased ten years ago can still be used today with the new DNA
levels. Data from the new levels can be processed with the older
generation software.
